One of the proudest moments as a big sister was to see my little Sorella get engaged to her prince charming, David. With the happy couple so in love and ready to start their lives together, our family is bubbling with excitement and ready to throw a bash to celebrate! We have waited 32 years for this special day to see the baby of the family finally commit!

The excitement mounts as we prepare for the soiree at my home. We are excited to bring together 130 close friends and family members to share in this joyous occasion. I’m becoming more nervous, as we are only a week away. Thank goodness that the kids have started school this week! Mom and I are finalizing details, so let the decorating begin!

While planning a party for my baby sister, I wanted to keep the look of the festivities to be uniquely Avisha: a clean, contemporary palate with bursts of bold and traditional pieces sprinkled in. We all know how much Avisha loves black & white damask, so I’m planning on using the pattern while dressing the tables with eye-catching crystal pieces and delicate touches of red roses.  I’m planning on using the “Manhattan Black Trio Crystal Pillar Candleholders“ as pedestals to create various heights for the platters and dishes. Flying Santa Sleigh – Crystal View

It’s that time of year to escape the office to feel the sand between your toes and enjoy a drink (or two) garnished with a sweet little umbrella. The summer is such a fun time of year, but in the blink of an eye, the kids are back in school, and it’s already time to get ready for the holidays! So, we packed up the cars for a little road trip to our favorite local getaway… Virginia Beach.

We know how easy it can be to forget to enjoy the little things and get wrapped up in the hectic whirlwind of everyday life, which is why we cherished our time as a family soaking in the sun and reconnecting with one another. The first stop on our vacation itinerary was Captain George’s All-You-Can-Eat-Seafood-Buffet, where we found time to reunite over picking crabs and eating too much of the fresh catch of the day.

Another favorite stop was the local Christmas boutique one block from the beach in which Anoush & I found all kinds of special hand-made treasures, dancing ornaments, and beautifully crafted trinkets. A Christmas Lover’s dream come true! While there, we became excited thinking about our own 2012 Christmas Collection. One of our favorites this year is the “Flying Santa Sleigh,” which is one of our most elaborate crystal creations. It may be bathing suit season, but it’s never too early for a little Christmas joy!
